Welcome at QBench

The QBench project is aimed at developing and using an approach to assure the internal quality of object oriented software systems. The approach can be used during the construction and evolution process and would allow significant savings in software development and evolution.

During the 30 months of this project, we will develop catalogues containing strategies for automatic identification of critical areas and automatic mappings of problem structures to solution structures. This development should be based on the requirements of the industry, on gaps in the state of art and on the creation of formal bases with regard to quality models, metrics and heuristics. Tools will implement these strategies.

The results of the project are continuously evaluated in case studies and transferred to the following industrial partners:

• infor business solutions AG
• LogControl GmbH
• PTV AG

The results will also be used in the consulting and service businesses of the project partner SQS Software Quality Systems AG, an European consulting enterprise. Moreover they will be used in the technology transfer business of the FZI, in the university lectures of the partner chairs Prof. Dr. C. Lewerentz (BTU Cottbus) and Prof. Dr. G. Goos (Universität Karlsruhe) and finally in current Ph.D. theses.

An additional research partner of this project is the software quality lab of the FhG FIRST institute at the Cottbus technical university.
